The humble musings and adventures of our family

5 months

Well, our family is doing great. Here's the quick run down before pictures:
1. Juliana had her first day care cold (runny nose, cough), which actually ran its course over about a week, but then I got it, and am still fighting some remnants.
2. Juliana has started almost crawling. No kidding. One day she was doing push ups, the next two days she was getting her knees under herself, and then she figured out how to put these all together to help scoot across the floor to get what she wanted. So she hasn't quite figured out how to move her hands with her legs yet, but soon I'm sure she will. Now, she will sort of leap frog forward and then stretch as far as she can to reach a toy, or my bowl of cereal!
3. She's finally cutting her first tooth! On the one hand, we think finally, on the other, we think oh no! She's uncomfortable, chewing on everything, has difficulty sleeping, and breastfeeding is not enjoyable. But, I know this will only happen for a few more days and then it will be in, with the others to follow! Tylenol has been helping through the night, and her teething toys in the fridge, make her more comfortable during the day.
4. She's finally transitioned into 6 month clothes, and growing like a weed!
5. We've started solid foods. We're early, but lots of signs were pointing to the need to start it. It's an exciting transition, but also hard at the same time because it's such a big milestone.

She still enjoys bath time.

She's only taking short field trips around the yard in her new "ride," but she enjoys it!

Rice all over her chin!

Push ups.

Sitting allows her to reach more types of toys

We got her a Johnny Jump Up, but she still doesn't quite know how to use it. Mostly she just spins.

She is all over the crib when she takes her naps! Lately she wedges herself sideways and kicks. It sounds like an elephant wants to get in the front door!
