Since she has water play at school, on the weekends when it's warm, she gets to play outside on our porch with her water table. Sometimes we'll even let her enjoy a cold snack, like the frozen chocolate milk popsicle she has in this picture.
She enjoys picking clothes out of her closet and since most of the clothes in her closet are dresses, there's been a few weeks where she wore a pretty dress nearly every day... She has an equal fascination with shoes, and in order to wear her pretty dress up shoes, I told her she had to wear a coordinating dress...She knows that anything with a steering wheel means she gets to "drive." This is a friend's go cart, and she gravitated to the helmets on the seats. They didn't stay on her head for long, but we got to get some neat pictures!
From school she has learned how to "clean" things, and she likes to wipe things down periodically. We spent last weekend packing up her old exersaucer, and she helped me clean all the individual toys and trays before we packed it into a bag. I wasn't sure if she would remember all the toys since it had been a few months since she had played with it, but when she kissed each of the parrots, my heart melted.
She has graduated to the "cool" shopping cart at the grocery store. Although she's wised up now to what happens when she's strapped into a cart, as in she only tolerates it for a small portion of time...
One Saturday we went out to WV to visit family and took her to the pool. It's the first time she's been to the pool since last year when we took her to the pool at Pipestem. She absolutely loved it. She hated being on her back (we were trying to teach her how to float), she just doesn't relax enough for it to work right, but she got dunked, and we would "whee" her on her tummy trying to teach her how to kick. During the pool cleaning break, she went over to the baby pool, but when she realized she could sit down and touch the bottom, she was over it and wanted to go back to the big pool.
She was thrilled with the prospect of sitting on the side of the pool. And spent some time sitting on the steps too.
On some rough mornings Elly (her stuffed elephant) comes to school with her.
She loves pulling books off any shelf.
She enjoys reorganizing the fridge. She's all about putting objects into places, and taking them back out again.
Here she is playing with her baby (tucked under her arm), and her purse is on her rocking horse.
We decided to make an impromptu trip to VA a few weekends ago, and Juliana had to hang out with Mommy while Daddy was at a meeting, way past her bedtime. She has Elly, her blankie, her passie, her jammies, and we took many strolls around the parking lot.
Then, we headed inside and she enjoyed exploring her stroller.
On our way back home from VA, we stopped for a long lunch with Aunt Caitlin, and visited a small water park on the mall.
Juliana has now graduated to sitting at the big table. We put her seat portion of her high chair onto a normal chair at the kitchen table.
The new arrangement does make for a bit more of a mess... Here she dumped out all of her puffs on the table, and then sometimes she enjoys scooting them all around the table and dumping them onto the floor...
We also enjoyed a trip down to Nana and Papa's this summer, and were able to spend more time with Lolli, Pop, and Aunt Caitlin.
She enjoys finding things, new objects, etc, and trying them out. This picture is when she insisted on wearing my raincoat.
We've taken more pictures of her sleeping recently, since we know she's sleeping through the night and we want to check on her before we go to sleep.
This was a grocery store trip when she couldn't stand to be in the cart anymore. She grabbed the box of crackers that was at the aisle end cap, and walked a little bit down the cereal aisle to sit down right here.
